COUNTY SENIOR 10 MILE ROAD CHAMPIONSHIP 

The County Senior 10 Mile Road Championship was held on Sunday the 9th of September in Moyglass.  We 11 athletes in total compete. First home for the club, was 5th Gareth McGlinchey in a great time of 56:48 and was 2nd O35, he was followed by 6th Dermot Hayes 57:50 and won 1st O50. Next up we had 17th Colm Bradshaw 64:03, 23rd Paudie Coen 65:55, 24th Linda Grogan in a great time of 66:15 and was 2nd Lady, 35th Dymphna Ryan 71:03 and was 1st O35, 37th John McCormack and 38th Jim Hally who both crossed the line together in 71:31, 41st Michael Moore 71:54 and was 3rd O55, 52nd PJ Holmes 78:03 and won 1st O60 and 53rd Mairead Julian 78:30 and was 2nd O40. Gareth, Dermot, Colm and Paudie won Silver in the Men's A team section. John, Jim and Michael also won Silver in the Men's B team section. Linda, Dymphna and Mairead won Silver in the Women's A team section. Great day of running with all our athletes winning at least one medal. 


GREAT NORTH RUN 

The Great North run was held on Sunday the 9th of September starting in Newcastle and finishing in Southshields in England. It's a very popular Half Marathon race with 57,000 doing it. Elite and fun runners a like running it. With Mo Farah winning it for the 5th consecutive year in a row. Naoimh Dooley travelled over the Geordie area to compete in one of her bucket list races and said it did not disappoint. Not an easy course by any means but the atmosphere was amazing. She finished in a time of 2:40:48 


JOHN BUCKLEY 10 MILE 

The Annual John Buckley 10 Mile was held in Cork City on Saturday evening the 8th of September. The course is considered to be a fast 10 Mile. Christina Fryday ran a great time of 1:23:16. This lady really is doing fantastic times over all distances, keep up the great work. 


THE STRUGGLE 10K/5K RUN 

The Struggle 10k/5k run was held in Doon on Saturday the 8th of September in aid of the Irish Red Cross. Brid Quirke did the 10k and finished 3rd Lady. Patricia Moloney was 1st Lady in the 5k and Orela Blake also ran the 5k. 


MOYCARKEY COOLCROO 5K/10K 

Moycarkey Coolcroo AC held their 5k and 10k on Friday the 31st of August in Littleton. We had 7 athletes compete in the 5k. First home for the club in 4th place was Colm Bradshaw 17:58, next was 6th Paudie Coen 18:08, 10th Declan Buckley 19:02, 23rd Jim O'Dwyer 24:30, 44th Colette Alley 29:21, 51st Orela Blake 30:49 and 57th Triona Buckley in a PB time of 36:25. 

In the 10k race we had two compete. In 21st was Mairead Julian 45:12 and she was closely followed by 22nd Linda Grogan 46:00. 


DUNDRUM DUATHLON 

The Dundrum Duathlon was held on Sunday the 2nd of September. We had a great turnout of 8 athletes with many making their debut over a Duathlon, in particular the ladies. The race consisted of a 5k run, 20k cycle and 3k run to finish. First home for the club in podium position of 2nd was Tommy Byrnes in 1:11:38. Next we had 7th Jim Hally 1:14:07 and was 1st O50, 8th John McCormack 1:17:06 and was 2nd O40, 15th John Kelly 1:21:27, 20th Brid Quirke 1:30:53 and finished in podium position of 2nd, 21st Mairead Julian 1:32:13 and finished in podium position of 3rd Lady, 37th Catherine Fogarty 1:43:08 and was 3rd O40 Lady and 40th Mary Rose Kinane 1:48:21.  Great performances all round and all said what a great event it was. 


JUVENILE TRAINING 

Juvenile training returns in Tuesday the 4th of September. Training is every Tuesday and Friday at 7pm at the track, Scout Hall, Dundrum. Children must be 7 years old. 


FIT4LIFE 

Fit4Life training returns on Monday the 3rd of September. Training every Monday and Thursday at 7pm at the track, Scout Hall, Dundrum. Men and women of all levels of fitness welcome.
