Animal Welfare group Mo Chara Animal Rescue say they are determined to find the people responsible for dumping five 'worm and flea infested' puppies near an abandoned building in North Tipperary earlier this month.
The five puppies were dumped near Templemore next to an abandoned property where the likelihood of them surviving was limited.
According to Mo Chara one of the poor puppies was hit by a car and “died a terrible death, soaking wet on a cold road. They didn't care that the pups were too young to be without their mother which has weakened their immune systems as they didn't have their mothers milk to help them and the mother herself must be suffering somewhere as she will have mastitis after having them suddenly take away at such a young age.”
In a heartfelt post to their Facebook page Mo Chara had this to say:
“To the heartless scumbag who dumped this litter of 5 babies near Templemore today - was it easy? Was it easy to just leave them loose by an abandoned property? Easy to just drive off? Have you even spared them a thought since? One got hit by a car shortly after you left them and died a terrible death, soaking wet on a cold road - do you care? Do you care that they're too young to be without their mum, that their immune systems will struggle without her milk? Do you care that their mum is most likely frantic tonight? Worried, sore and at risk of mastitis after having them suddenly taken away at this age? Probably not. You didn't care that their intestines are full of worms or that they're anaemic because they have so many fleas. I hope that as many people as possible share this, that somebody recognises these pups, I hope that I have the opportunity to come knocking at your door with the full weight of the law, however paltry, behind me. I hope that you will be held accountable for your disgusting actions. I hope that the remaining four will live, that they are not too damaged by your neglect to survive. I hope that these 3 innocent boys and their sweet sister live so that they may know the love, care and respect that you didn't show them. I feel sick thinking of how easily you washed your hands of them. I feel sick thinking of how awful it must have been for the one hit by a car, of how terrified and confused the others must have been to see their sibling die so horrifically. There can be no excuse for this.”
If you recognise the pups please get in touch with Mo Chara as they want justice for the puppies.

In a separate incidence 'Carey' strayed into Carey's Glass in Nenagh two weeks ago with a terrible skin condition and a belly full of pups. At the time Mo Chara was full to the rafters so she had to go to the pound in Nenagh where the staff took great care of her and helped her through the delivery of her five puppies. Carey and her pups are now safe with Mo Chara but unfortunately Carey will have a long road to recovery. Her coat is in a dreadful condition with many bald patches and nasty sores on her skin. As she is feeding her babies Mo Chara staff are limited in the treatments that are safe to use so she will require medicated baths every second day and a special supportive diet. The staff are just hoping that the puppies won't catch the skin condition from their mother.
