Liam O’Brien’s annual yuletide celebration of the swing era, Crooning at Christmas, is synonymous with the holiday season and is coming to The Source Arts Centre, Thurles for the first time this year on Friday, December 28th.
O’Brien, who acknowledges that he is almost as ubiquitous as Santa Claus himself in his hometown of Limerick, has poured his heart and considerable talents into the much-loved show for the last seven years in Limerick and is now extending the show to his neighbouring county and beyond.
Liam will be supported by his Million Dollar Swing Band who have backed him since the beginning including the exemplary American double bass player Peter Hanagan who used play with Norah Jones in his native New Mexico.
“We are celebrating seven years of the show by going out on the road and I’m so delighted to be adding Thurles, Blanchardstown and Tallaght as venues this year. Indeed it will be great to be coming to Thurles without the fear of the Limerick hurlers losing to Tipperary for a change,” joked the former Emmerdale star.
Crooning at Christmas takes place in The Source Arts Centre, Thurles on Friday, December 28th following performances in Draíocht, Blanchardstown on December 18th, The Civic Theatre, Tallaght on December 20th and Dolan’s Warehouse, Limerick on Saturday, December 22nd.
Tickets for Crooning at Christmas in The Source Arts Centre on December 28th are priced at E18 (E15 concession) including booking fee.
