The County Board Annual General meeting will be held in the Horse and Jockey Hotel on Thursday 14th January 2010 at 7:30pm. Completed Nomination and Motion forms must be returned to John Moore, County Secretary on or before Tuesday 5th January 2010. Any Nominations or Motions after that date will NOT be considered. This will give the Secretary time to re circulate the info back to the clubs for them to discuss in advance of the AGM.
Clubs are also reminded to bring any Nominations and Motions for the upcoming Munster AGM to the County AGM on the 14th for discussion.
At this year’s convention two men who have given outstanding service to the County over the past ten years are
stepping down. They are the current County Secretary John Moore of Dundrum and Tadgh Vaughan of Coolquill the Current County Treasurer. Both men have shown great commitment to the workings of the County Board over that period of time and both leave the County Board in a good state. Replacing both men will be a hard task but Clubs are asked to seriously consider nominations for these two positions as they have to be filled at the upcoming County Board Annual General Meeting. Clubs are asked to send in their Nominations as soon as possible.

New Year’s Resolution
2010 is fast approaching and presently there is an upsurge in athletics within the County and great credit must go to all the Clubs that are promoting the Sport both at Juvenile and at Senior level. At Senior level both Clonmel and Carrick on Suir are organising regular fun runs and they are attracting great numbers of fun runners.
Now is the time to set about setting that New Year’s Resolution of running or walking your way to fitness. Why not set the Moyglass 4 miler, March 17th, as your goal and then later in the year progress on to either a 5 miler or indeed the 10k classic distance as there are two well organised 10k road races in the County. In May the Clonmel 10k will take place while in July the very popular Dundrum 10k takes place.
Why not decide now that this will be your GOAL in 2010 – compete in a race, you have so many to select from. Better still make a definite decision now along with some friends that you will all participate in one of these events over the coming months. Just a statistical item from a survey held in England recently.
