St.Josephs College Borrisoleigh upset the queens of schools camogie, St Marys Charleville, by winning the Munster junior A final on Saturday in Ballyhea.
It was a very tightly fought game played in very foggy conditions which made it difficult for players and supporters alike.

Borrisoleigh settled quite quickly into the game and were four point sahead before Charleville registered a score. Borrisoleighs' Aoife Ryan was clinical with her free taking but Charleville had similar qualities with Louise O'Flynn surprising Borrisoleigh with a quickly taken free ending up in the back of the net to set them off on a scoring spree.

Charleville were awarded a penalty which was saved by Edel Ryan but they piled on the pressure  and were leading at half time 2.6 to 0.5.

Borrisoleigh began the second half full of fighting spirit and with Julie Ann Burke moving to the half back line Charleville found it very difficult to win any decent possession. Teresa Ryan worked tirelessly at mid field with Aoife Ryan passing in quality ball to Cliodhna Ryan who scored a fine goal as did her name sake Cliona Ryan soon after.Charleville had no answer to the work rate and determination of the Borrisoleigh girls who are a credit to their clubs, Toomevarra,

Silvermines, Templederry, Drom and Borrisoleigh. Having made history last year by winning the All Ireland Junior B championship for the first time it was a tremendous achievement to win this title.

Scorers: Borrisoleigh Aoife Ryan 1.7  Maria Ryan 0.2  Elaine Murphy 0.1

Cliodhna Ryan 1.0; Julie Ann Bourke 0.1;

Charleville - Louise O' Flynn 1.4; Aoife Twohill 0.2 ;Sinead Dennehy 1.1
