The annual Cashel RFC Charity Match took place on Saturday at Spafield and at the end of a very entertaining game the Tigers managed by Denis Leamy (picutred) overcame the International fifteen managed by John Hayes.

Thurles Hot Rod Update
THURLES Hot Rod had a good days racing again last Sunday at The Track. Our car numbers were down a bit but a lot of the lads are holding out for our big weekend on Saturday and Sunday next (May 12th and 13th). There is an open day on Saturday for rally cars, vintage cars, modifieds, tractors, motorbikes, trucks, and also trade stands. “We also have bouncy castles, sweets, ice cream, food, and much more, and on Sunday we have the long awaited 10 on 10 rookie banger challenge,” says organiser Johnny Patterson.

Thurles Cricket Club
We began our league campaign with a home fixture against Lismore on sunday last in what was our first competitive fixture since the club formed. A dry but windy day was in store but with no rain we got through the day without any interruptions.

The County Masters road championship was hosted in Coolquill on Saturday the 28th of April. Donal Keane was first home for the club in second position with a time of 20:43.

County Senior Road Championships: The County Senior Road Championships took place on Sunday last in Two Mile Borris. We had a wonderful representation from our Club with 14 of our senior athletes competing in what was a keenly contested event with the ladies running a 5k course and the men over a 10k course. First home for our ladies was Lisa Quinlan finishing in 12th place with a time of 21.42, next was Edel Leahy in15th recording 22.35, Frances Long was 17th in 23.44, Sharon Kiely was 22nd in 26.07, Rosie Cleere was 23rd in 26.08, Eileen Ryan was 26th in 28.51, Mairead O’Dwyer was 27th in 28.56, Evelyn Cornally was 28th in 28.59 and Catherine Britton finished 29th in 31.45. Lisa, Edel and Frances finished 4th team overall in the ‘A’ section, Sharon, Rosie and Eileen took 1st team in the ‘B’ section with Mairead, Evelyn and Catherine taking 3rd place in the ‘B’ section – well done girls. First home from in the Men’s Race was Liam Kelly in 15th with a time of 37.15, next was Richard Daly in 38th recording 42.15, Thomas Moore in 47th with 46.05, JJ Fitzgerald in 48th with 46.22 and Ray Power was 50th in 48.25 – the guys combined to finish 6th Club team overall – well done guys.

County Senior Road: The prospect of achieving 5 in a Row County Senior Team Titles looked like a difficult assignment for the Men’s Senior Team in Two Mile Borris on Sunday.

The Juvenile club were represented at the Pan Munster under 10’s Festival Blitz in Rockwell on Saturday where they played three very exiting matches.
Tipperary Equestrian Centre Riders Shine In France
THREE riders and four ponies left Tipperary Equestrian Centre, Mill Road Thurles on Sunday 8th April, to compete in the BIP International 3 day Show-Jumping Competition in Fontainebleau, France 13th-15th April where thirteen countries compete over the three-day event.

Ulster Bank Divisions 2B League Cashel 20 Points Rainey Old Boys 17 Points: In senior rugby ranks it has been called the “Elusive Fifteen”. No team has had a “clean sheet” of wins in any AIL League since its launch. Ten teams have been in touching distance of perfection in the past decade, Wanderers, who Cashel put to the sword in the Aviva Stadium two weeks ago themselves came very close in 2008,but failed to sign off on the 15-0 score card. The west Limerick club Bruff recorded 14 wins and a draw in the 2007 season in Division 3.
