Second Half Borrisokane Too Strong for Loughmore Castleiney
Borrisokane 2-11 Loughmore-Castleiney 1-4
An inspired second half performance by Borrisokane was enough to dismiss the challenge of Loughmore Castleiney in the County Junior A Football Quarter Final in Nenagh on Sunday. Trailing by a point at half time, a transformed Borrisokane registered 2-5 without reply after the break with Philip Austin blowing the first half cobwebs away and showing his class.
Seosamh Cleary, Peter McSharry , Shane Nevin and Gordon Harding also had fine games while Brian Davis, Gary Power and Shane Dooley gave most assistance to Austin up front. Loughmore fell away after a good opening but had good performances from Dinny Brereton and Brian McGrath in defence as well as John Scully, Shane Nolan and Tommy Maher. David Foy took his goal well but didn’t see much ball over the hour. Seamie Bohan worked hard but took a heavy knock which necessitated his replacement at the interval.
