Roscrea Crowned Junior B Champs After Fourteen-A-Side Hurling Final

County Junior B Hurling Final

Roscrea 3-12 Cahir 0-7

Roscrea turned on the style in the last quarter, chalking up 2-3 without reply, to ease their way to a well-deserved victory in a hard-fought and entertaining County Junior ‘B’ hurling final played in Littleton on Saturday last. Bizzarely, the final turned out to be a fourteen-a-side affair from the start after two players were given red cards following an incident before the throw-in.

While the fourteen point difference between the teams at the end of a teak tough wholehearted decider, played in freezing conditions, rendered scant justice to Cahir’s gutsy overall performance, there was no doubting the merit of the North champion’s victory. With far greater fire power than their rivals they led for the most part, and greatly boosted by a 1-3 contribution from play from classy corner-forward Conor Egan they were full value for their half-time 1-7 to 0-5 advantage.
