Maher Is Hoping That Tipperary Can Dictate The Terms Of Sunday’s Replay

TIPPERARY minor hurling manager William Maher hopes that his side can wrestle the initiative away from Dublin and dictate the terms of next Sunday’s All-Ireland final replay at Croke Park.

Prior to their drawn encounter Tipperary had been noted as an explosive attacking unit, but against Dublin they struggled to make an impression. Indeed, thirty-three minutes had elapsed before Seán Maher registered Tipperary’s first score from play.

“Dublin just did not let us play. It’s as simple as that,” William Maher told the Tipperary Star.

“They started the stronger and they dictated the terms of the game. In saying that we didn’t perform, nothing seemed to go our way and yet we didn’t lose so that’s a very good sign.

“The next day is a completely new day. Replays can be completely different in that what works the first day doesn’t the second. It’s up to us now not to let Dublin dictate the terms on the day,” added the Ballingarry man.

“I have been saying all year that Dublin are the best minor team in the country. All the work that they have been doing in Dublin is really paying off now. See this weeks Tipp Star for full story.
