Loughmore Too Good for Eire Og Nenagh

Co J H A Quarter-final

Castleiney 2-16 Eire Og Nenagh 0-10

Loughmore-Castleiney put the disappointment of their Mid final defeat behind them to emphatically defeat below-par North champions, Eire Og, Nenagh in the county junior A hurling quarter-final at Templemore on Saturday.

Nenagh went into this game “on a high” after their great North final win over Moneygall but failed to reach North final form with a very “flat” display that saw them out-gunned by a Loughmore-Castleiney outfit determined to made amends for the lapse of a week previously.

In a contest that did not match expectations, Loughmore-Castleiney called the shots all the way and were not flattered by their twelve points winning margin. Seamie Bohan set down a marker for them inside thirty seconds when he moved smartly onto Henry Maher’s delivery to clip home a morale boosting goal. Bohan and Tommy Maher added points as Nenagh struggled to find their feet, their confidence not helped by four wides in the opening six minutes. See this weeks Tipperary Star for full details.
