Extra Time Required To Separate Upperchurch-Drombane And Cashel
County Intermediate
Veteran Gerry Ryan(Red) banged home a goal a minute from the end of extra time to ensure victory for Upperchurch-Drombane over Cashel King Cormacs in a closely fought county intermediate football semi-final at Boherlahan on Saturday last.
Having put in a strong finish to force extra time, Upperchurch-Drombane showed the greater composure in extra time and Ryan’s goal gave them a four points advantage with time running out.
Cashel had their chances to redeem the situation but two frees reaped no reward. Ross Doyle did manage a point but time was against Cashel and the Mid runners-up went marching on to face divisional champions, Moycarkey-Borris in the final.
Upperchurch-Drombane won this the hard way and were let off the hook on three occasions when Cashel goals looked there for the taking. See this weeks Tipperary Star for full report.
