Éire Óg Dethrone Moneygall Thanks To Stunning Finish

North TipperaryJunior A Hurling Final

Nenagh Eire Og 1-19 Moneygall 1-16

Eire Og Nenagh dethroned North Tipperary Junior A champions Moneygall thanks to a stunning finish to a cracking final on Saturday in Toomevara.

For the second week in-a-row a late Damien Martin goal looked to have secured a win for Moneygall, but a spirited Nenagh finish complete with a goal from substitute Conor Kirwan broke Moneygall hearts and sent the large Nenagh contingent into raptures.

There was little between the sides all through with the eventual victors shading the opening half. Moneygall mounted a tremendous fight back before finally taking the lead for the first time with little over five minutes remaining. Cruelly for the holders they were unable to hold out, but can take huge credit for their contribution to an enthralling contest. See this weeks Tipperary Star for full story.
