Turbines would have generated 660kw each and have stood 65m high

Plans to build two huge wind turbines near Ronald

Reagan’s ancestral home, have been turned down by An Bord Pleanála.

Denis English, care of Barnes Murray de Bháill of The Old Forge, Innishannon, County Cork appealed South Tipperary County Council’s decision to block his plans for two 65m high wind turbines at Dangan, Ballyporeen, to An Bord Pleanála.

The two 660kw turbines, combined with a 25sqm electrical sub-station were refused planning permission in July last year due to concerns about the project’s impact on noise levels, roads/traffic, flora and fauna, and the local geology and water system.
