Last week January 29th we had a large attendance with two different sessions going on simultaneously. Paddy Loughnane and John Carey were assisting members who were availing of studio lighting complete with backdrop zoning their skills at Portraiture photography.
At the other end of the room Trevor O’Toole was helping members with Macro photography. Both sessions went down a treat with members benefiting greatly.
Our thanks to TrevorO’Toole, Eileen Quinlan and Jim Troy for brining in all their equipment for staging the sessions.
Our sincere appreciation to both Catherine Mockler and Trisha Ryan Lanigan who performed so professionally as models for our Portraiture session. Indeed they must be both dazzled and roosted from the lights and the many flash lights they had to endure.
At the Southern Association Of Camera Clubs regional Nature Competition which took place in Mallow on Sunday January 26th our participating members did the club proud. Tim Murray secured a Gold medal in the Intermediate Peat Ireland section, in the Open section Paddy Loughnane secured a bronze medal. Both Tim and Paddy’s images now go forward to the National Finals which are being held in Kilkenny on February 23rd.. Eamon Brennan, Treasa O’Dwyer and Christy Bracken also have qualified for the national finals, so we have another opportunity to fly the Thurles flag.
On a sad note we offer our condolences to Jim Troy on the death of his sister Phil who is also an aunt of another of our members Antoinette O’Dowd, to them both we keep you in our thoughts at this difficult time for you. Go nDeana Dia trocaire ar a anam
