National Media Awards
Two fifth year students, Soracha Henderson and Keelin Nugent were recently announced national winners in the 15-17 years category for their film entry in this year’s “Let’s Talk About Drugs” National Media Awards, with their film exploring the link between alcohol and sports. Based on the official theme of “Alcohol and sport-who is the real winner,” the girls produced and edited a 2 minute film which tells the story of two young swimmers with Olympic dreams experimenting with alcohol. Last Wednesday, in The Aisling Hotel Dublin, they were presented with a crystal trophy and an android tablet by Minister of State for Primary Care at the Department of Health, Mr. Alex White T.D.
Una’s Dream Ticket
On September 16th our second year students had an early start as they travelled to RTE studios to be members of the audience for past pupil Una Healy’s new television programme ‘Una’s Dream Ticket’. We are very proud of Una’s success and we were delighted to be part of the experience.
On Saturday September 21st a reunion of Presentation past pupils from 1941 up until 2002 took place. Over 700 past pupils enjoyed this fantastic day and we thank Ms. Susan Max and her committee for making this event possible.
Our leaving cert students recently attended the Higher Options careers exhibition held in the RDS in Dublin.
