A report was presented to the Town Council on March 26th, outlining the delivery of the Town Development Plan over the last two years.

Templemore and Environs Development Plan, 2012-2018 was adopted in April, 2012. The Plan sets out a strategy for planning and developing the town over the 6-year life time of the plan. The proposals provide for the promotion of local business, quality residential development and the protection of amenities. The Council gave priority to the regeneration of the town centre and the promotion of heritage and amenities, said Senior Executive Planner Nuala O’Connel. “In the summer of 2014, painting Schemes were run in the Town Square and Patrick Street. The ‘Crown Our Town’ initiative showed the town’s community spirit, where the tidy towns committee, local business, residents and local volunteers painted shop fronts and buildings throughout the Square. The Town Council over the past two years has implemented public realm works to rationalise car parking, including hard and soft landscaping which has visually enhanced the square.”
