Nenagh Castle may go green for Paddy’s Day

Nenagh Castle may go green for this year’s St Patrick’s Day festival, Nenagh Town Council was told this Monday. Cllr Conor Delaney revealed the committee was in talks with the OPW about the proposal in an effort to create a carnival atmosphere in the town.

Cllr Hughie McGrath said the committee was looking at this year’s parade being as big as last year’s, with as many entries in already as they had for last year.

“We have asked the traders to turn Saturday, March 15, into a discount day and we will have trad music, jazz and hopefully the Friendship Band on the streets,” he said.
