Cllr Fogarty welcomes poles on Slievenamon Road

Thurles Town Councillor Gerard Fogarty has welcomed the installation of poles on Slievenamon Road ( between Monadreen and Clongour junctions) to prevent cars from mounting the footpath.

However, he called for reflectors to be put on the low level poles as they are quite difficult to see.

Mayor Michael Grogan agreed with Cllr Fogarty.

Engineer Mr Ruairi Boland said that he would have the issue investigated.

Order of Malta

The Thurles Order of Malta would like to wish a Happy New Year to all our cadets, their families and our Cadet Leaders. The class will resume this Friday, January 10, at 6.15-7.45pm. for all our cadets. Please meet at the Order of Malta Hall in Rossa Street. Looking forward to seeing everyone after the Christmas break.

The Thurles Cadets would like to thank the Tipperary Education and Training Board (ETB), National Lottery, National Development Plan and the Department of Children and Youth Affairs for their grant which we received during the past year. This grant has facilitated the purchase of new uniforms, training materials and subsidised the cost of transport. It is extremely benificial and aids the running of our very busy cadet unit.

We are very grateful for their continuing support.
