On Tuesday evening Sept. 15th, Brian Colclough of Bernie’s Super Valu Roscrea welcomed numerous representatives from eight local GAA clubs to The Cosy Kitchen for the presentation of the Super Valu “Kits for Kids” merchandise.
On hand to help out was former Tipperary Hurling legend Mr. Liam Sheedy who praised Bernie’s Super Valu for their ongoing commitment to local organisations and encouraged all the young players in attendance to keep participating in sport.
The kits concerned; all O’Neill’s branded gear, is worth J800 to each club. It is part of Supervalu’s Kit for Kids Initiative which aims to inspire future generation of GAA heroes.
In total O’Neill’s kit worth €430,000 will be awarded to over 400 clubs around the country.Brian Colclough thanked all concerned for their ongoing support and stated that the initiative was a good example of money staying local when people choose to shop with local stores.
The Participating GAA Clubs were nominated by local shoppers who donated their Kit for Kids tokens at the in store collection points throughout the summer.
The clubs successfully collected over 2,000 SuperValu Kits for Kids tokens to receive the O’Neill’s kit.
Participating Clubs included: Ballyskenagh/Killavilla, Shinrone, Roscrea, Coolderry, Inane Rovers, Kinnitty, Clonakenny and Moneygall.
