Silvermines student Daniel to take part in Arsenal GAP programme

Daniel Gleeson, Old Park Road, Silvermines, Nenagh, has been chosen to take part in the Arsenal FC Gap programme. Daniel, a student at LIT, will use sport to effect social change under the programme.

Daniel Gleeson, Old Park Road, Silvermines, Nenagh, has been chosen to take part in the Arsenal FC Gap programme. Daniel, a student at LIT, will use sport to effect social change under the programme.

He will gain qualifications and experience with Arsenal’s Community Programme in football coaching and the LIT designed complementary academic module, Soccer in the Community.

The overall programme includes classroom teaching (literacy and basic ICT), the FAI Kick Start 1 & 2 (coaching course), first aid, video capture and analysis, child protection and a specific Arsenal coaching programme. It is the first time that the club has run it GAP programme outside London.
