Rumours are circulating around Roscrea that German retail giant Aldi may be considering establishing one of its competitively priced stores in town.
Some of the sites under question include the old Taro plant, a location on the Gantly road, or a town centre location.
A spokesperson for Aldi said they couldn’t comment on the matter at the present time.
However, their website states that they are “actively seeking” a site in Roscrea. So far, North Tipp County Council has not received a planning application from the company for a development site in Roscrea. Aldi’s main rival Lidl already have a storeon the Birr Road, while Tesco has also expanded in the town centre.
