Scrap Saturday - Will be held in Ballingarry GAA Car Park on Saturday May 18th from 8am to 3pm, by Ballingarry Tidy Towns. This is an opportunity to do “A Spring Clean” of your house, garage, shed, farmyard. Anything METAL welcome (gates, bikes, ladders, cans, biscuit tins, wheelbarrows, galvanise, etc.) For further information,please contact Imelda at 087 2444819.

Presentation Secondary School Ballingarry - Plans are well underway to welcome past pupils together with current and present staff to our Gathering on May 4th. Do not miss out on this opportunity to meet old friends and to take a trip down memory lane. The day will begin with an informal gathering at the school from 2-4 pm when you will have a chance to meet and chat as you view memorabilia and recall memories of your time at the school. Skydive - The Flying Nun Sr. Patricia is planning on doing her Skydive jump on Monday May 6th, jumping 10,000 ft. Funds in aid of local projects in the Slieveardagh area and AWARE, the organization that supports Suicide & Depression.  Sponsorship cards available in all local shops or visit “The Flying Nun” on Facebook for further information.

Tea Day - Jacky Galloway will hold her annual Alzheimer’s Tea Day at Kyle on Thursday, May 9th, 11am – 6pm. Please support this worthy cause, all are welcome. 

The Commons Community Childcare - The Commons Playschool caters for children 2yrs 6mths - school Age and are now enrolling for September 2013, ECCE (Free pre-School Year) and Cets for parents who wish to return to training. Friends of Ballingarry GAA Golf Classic - We are holding our 16th Annual Golf Classic on Fri & Sat May 10th/11th in Callan Golf Club. The Golf Classic incorporates the GAA Club Golf Championship for the Donal Kealy & the “Babs” Keating Perpetual Trophies and is open to GAA Clubs from Tipperary & Kilkenny. Church Gate Collections – A reminder to all involved with Church Gate Collections: you are required to observe all the rules laid down by the Garda Superintendent re the granting of the permit. We draw particular attention to prior notification to the parish and receiving clearance to hold the collection so as to avoid extra collections on the day. Collections are not to be taken up on Church grounds.

Fab Fitness - Classes continue Mon mornings 9.30am in Mullinahone Community Hall and Ballingarry Hall on Thursday evenings 7.30pm, right up until the summer holidays. Contact Biddy O’Dwyer (087) 641 0352.

Course Information Morning - We are planning our courses for Autumn 2013. If you are under 35 and in receipt of a Social Protection payment and are interested in doing a part-time course we would like to invite you to an Open Morning at the Millennium Family Resource Centre, Glengoole, Thurles, Co. Tipperary on Tuesday, 14th May 2013 from 9.30am – 12 noon, with regards to the options available.

The Old School, The Commons - Our school re-union will be celebrated on June 29th and we would like to invite all past pupils of the school to this event. (See The Gathering website for details). As it may be difficult to make contact with all past pupils we would appreciate any help we can get in making contact with others or collecting old photographs etc. If you would like to help out in any way please text your name to (086) 312 1950 and we will gladly get in touch. Music lessons have resumed in the school on Wednesdays and Fridays. If you would like to join the others who are taking music classes each week at €5 per class please come along on Wednesdays for the following classes; Tin Whistle from 6 to 8pm;  Bodhrán from 7pm - 8pm; Banjo from 8 to 9.30pm and Accordion from 8pm to 9pm.  Guitar lessons on Friday evenings are from 5pm - 6pm for beginners and 6pm - 7pm for Advanced. Please come along as we are hoping to build up our music group for next summer’s music festival which will take place on June 30th. Step dancing time is 5 to 6pm on Friday evenings and Adult Set Dancing time is from 9 - 10pm on Monday nights.  Our annual Céilí will take place on June 29th.
