Closing Ceremony - A concelebrated Mass will take place on the school grounds of St.Fintan’s CBS Doon on Sunday, 12th May at 2pm to mark the closing of the school. Following Mass there will be a Book Launch, Flag Lowering Ceremony, Entertainment and Refreshments. All are welcome.

Sincere Sympathy - We extend our sympathy to the O’Shea Family, Greenhills on the untimely death of Mike. To his wife Sheila, daughters Muriel, Mary and Sheila, sons, Philip, Michael and Sean, mother-in-law Marion Renehan, beloved grandchildren and his extended family and many friends. After a very large funeral Mike was laid to rest in Cappawhite Cemetery.

We also extend our sympathy to the wife & extended family of Michael (Mick) Irwin, Monard, who after Mass in Solohead on Monday last, April 29th Mick’s remains were laid to rest in Bruff. “Sweet Jesus, have mercy on their dear souls”.

Congratulations - Congratulation to Sheelagh Carew who was awarded The Tipperary Footballer of the year in the L.I.P National League final against Armagh in Mullingar on Sunday last, April 28th. They just missed out on a win by 2 points.

Cappawhite U/16 ‘B’ Ladies football will play next weekend against Mullinahone. Good Luck to all the ladies who give so much pleasure to all.

U/16 ‘B’ Ladies Football County Semi-final: Cappawhite 2-16, Moycarkey 2-10. Cappawhite hosted Moycarkey on Thursday evening last for the first of the semi finals in this U/16 ladies football competition. Cappawhite had met Moycarkey earlier in the competition and only managed a draw but without five of their key players. This was a different game and Cappa dominated from the start leading by six at the break. The visitors kept the heads up and staged somewhat of a comeback in the second half but ran out of time. Well done on a great display of team football and thanks to Michael Duffy for refereeing. Cappawhite now go on to meet Mullinahone in the final on Friday next,3rd May, venue to be confirmed. Good Luck on Friday. U/12 ‘B’ Boys Football Semi-final - Cappawhite 5-06, Lattin Cullen 3-1. Cappawhite travelled to Seán Treacy Park on Thursday evening last to contest the first of the semi-finals in this U/12 ‘B’ football league. The Cappa lads had met Lattin earlier in the competition and had beaten them narrowly. Cappawhite dominated this game from the start and put on a great display of good team football. Hard Luck to Lattin who kept the heads up right to the end. Cappawhite go on to meet Éire Óg in the final on Bank holiday Monday. The final should be a thrilling affair as Cappawhite only managed to beat Éire Óg by a singel point in what was a very close and entertaining game of football in Annacarty. Venue and time to be confirmed for the final. U/14 Championship Boys Football - Saturday, April 27 in Annacarty, Cappawhite 5-07, Golden 2-04. Cappawhite got their football competition off to a winning start on Saturday last when they travelled to Annacarty to play Golden. Panel and scorers: D. McCarthy, R. Renehan, B. Murphy, S. Ralph, P.
