Fashion Show - With the good news that all capital grants have been secured for the building of the new Sports/Community Centre in Littleton the centre steering group will host their annual Fashion Show with Cheese and Wine reception in association with Celia Holman Lee on this Thursday, September 27th at 7.30 p.m.

A great night for all is assured and people are asked to support the new Community/Sports Centre which will prove a huge asset to the parish of Moycarkey-Borris. Tickets bought before this Wednesday evening, September 26th will be entered into a draw where one lucky winner will win a trip to the fashion show in a limousine kindly sponsored by Brendan O’Dwyer at Munster Limo’s.

New Ambulance - Thurles Order of Malta in association with the parish of Moycarkey/Borris and Littleton are hoping to purchase a new ambulance which will be resident in Littleton. The ambulance will be a huge asset to the parish and will be available for a number of parish, sporting and community events. To fund its purchase, the ambulance committee are hosting a ‘Buster Night’ in Thurles Greyhound Stadium on Saturday, 3rd November. Over the next few weeks a number of ticket sellers will be calling to all the homes in the parish selling tickets for 10 euro which as well as inclusion in a draw for 500 euro will also include admission to Thurles Greyhound Stadium on the night. Please give generously to this very worthwhile cause.

The Late Patrick Duggan - The death has taken place on September 15th of Patrick (Paddy) Duggan, Newtown, Drangan, brother of Mary Bourke, Maxford, Horse & Jockey. His remains were removed from his residence to the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 11 a.m. followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Drangan. Deeply mourned by his wife Ann, daughters Aine and Carmel, son Patrick, daughter-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, brother, sisters, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

Golf - Bannon’s Golf Society will hold their annual weekend away on this Friday 28th and Saturday 29th September. Fixtures, Tramore Golf Club on Friday, team of 3 and Saturday, President’s Prize (Martin Ryan) at Waterford Castle Golf Club. Tee off 10 to 11.30 a.m.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament - Moycarkey Church on Wednesday after the 9 a.m. Mass to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Two-Mile-Borris Church on Wednesday after the 10 a.m. Mass to 1 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Littleton Church on Thurs after 9 a.m. Mass to 1 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Collection - Autumn collection for the priests will be held at the Masses next weekend. We ask everyone to contribute and we thank you for your generosity. Use one of the envelopes you received, extra envelopes or packets of envelopes in church porches.

Community Alert - A meeting of the Community Alert groups will be held next Monday night, Oct. 1st. in Pouldine School Hall at 8pm. All are welcome.
