The past two weekends have been extremely busy times for branch members. On the weekending 15th July the Leinster Fleadh was held in Goery in wexford and over the past weekend the Munster Fleadh was held in Dungarvan.

The term “The Sunny South East “ was well deserved on Saturday but Sunday was a miserable day for competitors who had the task of going from venue to venue.

After both competitions we have five members advancing to the All Itreland Fleadh Cheoil in Cavan on the weekend of 18-19 August.

The five competitors are Cian Hanamy, Isobella Coonan, Conor Bracken, Darragh Carey-Kennedy and Michael Ryan. Diarmuid Ryan was very unlucky not to qualify.

It has to be said that all members who represented the branch in the provincial Fleadhanna surpassed all expectations an as a branch we are very unfortunate that more memners have not qualified for Cavan this was one of the best prepared team that has represented the branch for a long time.

Great credit has to go to Carol Thompson and Catherine Brown and special thanks to Ann Glesson and Ann Feehan for attention to costumes and uniforms, and above all a big thank you to all member musicians who gave it all they had in every competition.

You all brought great credit and honour to the branch “Mile Buiocas” to all, also to the dancers who took part on Friday well done ye put in a great performance.

The last of the summer sessions takes place this Thursday Night.

We wish to take this opportunity to thank all who attendedthe sessions. Thanks to visiting branches Ormonde CCE, BallyBoy CCE and our Neighbours Killea CCE your contributions to the session brought a new dimension to the programme of events. We would like to thank Tesco for their sponsorship of last Wednesdays session.

Finally a big thank you to all who travelled to both provinicial Fleadhanna to support branch members it was very much appreciated.

The new season will kick off in September and new members will be made very welcome. The branch needs new blood and new ideas to progress and take up the challenges that are ahead.

Finally best wishes to the members who are going forward to represent the branch at the All Ireland we all know that each one will give everything they have in their quest to attain All Ireland Glory. We hope that as many as possible will travel to support them.
