Tipperary Co. Council granted a 10-year permission to ESB Wind Development Limited to build 18 wind turbines in the townlands of Bahaga, Cappagh, Foildarg, Oldcastle, and Cappaghwhite, on August 18th last year, but the final Grant ESB Wind Developments Ltd. has withdrawn an appeal it lodged with An Bord Pleanála in relation to the construction of a major windfarm in townlands near Cappawhite. ESB received a 10 year permission for 18 wind turbines, access tracks, fenced electrical transformer station, central building and substation, anemometer masts, borrow pits and associated site works, at Bahaga, Cappagh, Foildarg, Oldcastle, Cappaghwhite, last year. The Council attached 31 conditions to the development. On September 12th last, ESB Wind Development Limited lodged an appeal to An Bord Pleanála. However, this appeal was withdrawn on February 26th.
