Nenagh Town Council has agreed to meet residents of St Joseph’s Park to examine the need for extra ramps in the estate. The move follows a petition signed by the majority of residents, and gathered by Cllr Conor Delaney, calling for the ramps.

The issue was raised at this month’s meeting by Cllr Lalor McGee.

“The people have spoken. They want ramps. Their wishes should be respected,” said Cllr Delaney. He revealed that only two residents were not in favour of the ramps, with one claiming children could fall over them.

Town manager Marcus O’Connor took issue with Cllr Delaney’s claim that they had no effect on emergency services.
