Road Run - Thurles & District Vintage Club will hold their annual Holycross Road Run in aid of North Tipperary Hospice on Sunday, 14th April. Registration from 11 a.m. at The Ship, Cormackstown and the run will start at 12 noon. Vintage and Modern tractors and cars welcome. If it has wheels, bring it on. Your support for this worthy cause is very much appreciated.
Drama - Holycross-Ballycahill Drama Group will perform their award winning play ‘The God of Carnage’ on this Sunday, 14th of April, at 8.30pm in Holycross Community Centre, tickets are €10 and €5. This is the last chance to see this most entertaining play before their All-Ireland performance in Cork. Please come along and support your local group. Suitable viewing for all ages. Pilgrimage - From Holycross to Santiago De Compostela on foot. Last Sunday, April 7th, Michael Walsh and Yvonne Tyler’s pilgrimage group left from the local Community Hall at 12.30pm to walk over 2000k to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. Prior to the walk they attended the 11am Mass in the Abbey and during Mass Fr. Celsus Tierney gave the traditional blessing of the ‘Scallop Shell and Walking Stick’. Fr. Celsus wished them a safe walk. They undertook this long walk to raise funds for two Autism Awareness Projects - Tús Nua Autism Residential and Resource Centre in Thurles and Cottage Autism Network, Wexford.
Sympathy - Sympathy is extended to Philip Quinn, The Green, on the death of his mother Josie Quinn, Main St. Killenaule. Sympathy also to Tom Molony, The Green, Sr. Molly and Fr. Conor Molony, Kenya on the death of their sister, Josie Quinn.
Camogie Club - For the U/8, U/10 and U/12 players training will commence on this Thursday in the local Hurling Field at 6.30pm. Anyone interested in the game of Camogie should come along to the Hurling Field, you will be most welcome.
Church Gate Collection - A Church Gate Collection in aid of the Autism Unit at Gaile National School will be held at Masses in Holycross this weekend. All support appreciated.
