Golden/Kilfeacle Festival News - Big congrats to our first four queens for 2013 being Melissa Cope, New Inn, Jacqueline Walsh, Bansha, Megan Perdue, Cashel and Leah Hall, Cashel. Keep in mind our Monster Festival Bingo on Thursday, May 30th in G.A.A. Hall at 8.30pm. Huge prize money on the night. “Gathering Reunion” of the winning West final teams in Senior Hurling from 40 years ago on Saturday night, June 1st in Bridge House Golden. We are having a Sean Nos dancing workshop in the G.A.A. Hall on Saturday, June 1st. Sean Nos from 11am to 12.30pm and set dancing from 2pm to 4pm. We are delighted to have the workshop run by world dancing champion and Bru Boru dancer Mr. Michael Cooney. More info on this later.

On Friday, May 31st, The Cornerstone Bar will hold Golden’s first ever Slave Auction. A guaranteed great nights entertainment assured. Anyone interested in “Car boot Sales” will be delighted to know we are having one on Saturday, June 1st in Creamery Yard. If you would like to bring a stall on the day you would be very welcome. A great way to clean out your wardrobe and make some money from it. Golden/Kilfeacle G.A.A. Club’s first ever “wheel barrow race” in the village on Saturday night, May 31st at 8pm. Golden/Kilfeacle Juvenile G.A.A. Club are organising the kiddies events on Saturday, June 1st from 3pm to 5pm in the G.A.A. Hall. Art competition, face painting, disco, Little prince and princess will be part of the kiddies events. Don’t forget our Sports and Family Day on Sunday, June 2nd in G.A.A. Field. Our Festival Dance will take place with fabulous band ‘Southbound’ on Sunday night with bar extension.
