Bereavement - The death occurred of Michael Stapleton Sen. Gurteen, on Wednesday June 27th 2012. Michael, who is predeceased by his son Michael Junior, is deeply regretted by his wife Bridget, son George, daughters Breda, Geraldine and Margaret, grandchildren, sisters, sons-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Removal took place from his residence on Friday to Ss Patrick and Oliver Church, Glengoole. Requiem Mass was on Saturday followed by burial in adjoining cemetery. May he rest in peace.

First Friday - Mass in Glengoole at 7 p.m. and Gortnahoe at 8 p.m.

Mill Cemetery, Urlingford - Will be on this Friday, July 6th at 7.30 p.m.

Kilcooley Parish Fete - On this Sunday, July 8th a wonderful occasion commencing at 2 p.m. at the Old Kilcooley School House up Grange Hill towards the Commons. Numerous stalls, such as Cake Stall, Plant Stall, Games, snail race, live music, plenty to eat, a raffle, with wonderful prizes.  All support greatly appreciated.

Juvenile G.A.A. Club - The Finals of the Brendan Teehan Tournament will take place in the G.A.A. grounds on this Saturday, July 7th. Please support.

Gortnahoe Bingo - Congratulations to local parish winner of last week’s jackpot. Prize money plus jackpot continues this week.  All are welcome.

Good Week in Parish - Thanks to everybody so much for supporting an enjoyable night at Mary Willies in aid of parish funds.

Great joy at Ballysloe National School at the raising of the green flag. The sponsored walk for Glengoole Hall was also a great success. Well done also to the parents and volunteers on the beautiful mural at Glengoole National School.

Another very important event took place last Saturday in Gortnahoe Church with the installation ceremony of Fr. Irwin as Parish Priest by Archbishop Clifford.

Family Fun Day - Millennium Family Resource Centre Glengoole Family Fun Day & Craft Fair on this Friday, 6th July from

3 - 7 p.m. Activities include Bouncy Castle, Face Painting, Games & Activities, Lucky Dip, Bric-a-Brac, BBQ and loads more. All donations for Bric-a-Brac and Lucky Dip very welcome.
