Eucharistic Congress, Dublin, 10th -17th June - Information re Congress programme and how to book/register if intending to attend Congress is available on noticeboards in all three parish churches, on Congress website, www.iec2012.ie and in a booklet which will be delivered to each home by the end of the month. The Parish Pastoral Council will organize a bus to transport parishioners to the Congress if there is sufficient interest/uptake for this idea. Energy Flag - Pupils in Lorrha National School are working very hard since their return after the summer break last September to secure the schools second green flag, the theme of which is ‘Energy’. And it’s not just in school, but the pupils carry their energy saving tips back to their homes reminding their parents to be energy aware.
Organic Gardening Course - An Gairdin’s Organic gardening course this year begins on Wednesday 22nd February. Over the six day intensive course participants will learn how to successfully grow their own healthy vegetables, fruit, herbs using organic methods. Well Done - Congratulations is extended to Trevor Hogan, Rathcabbin who won the Munster Auto Cross recently in his 3.5 litre Rover V8 Special single seater buggie. Trevor who is a member of the Birr and Discrict Auto club competed in the ten round Munster Championship in this class, which comprised of grass and quarry tracking, most of the competition taking place in Cork, and he was presented with his winnings on Friday night last at a ceremony to mark the occasion which was held in Cork.
Well done Trevor and now its down to practice in defence of the title in 2012.
