Good Luck to Fr Ryan

The people of Templemore, Clonmore and Killea are very saddened to learn that Fr Michael Ryan is leaving us. Fr Ryan made his announcement at all Masses at the weekend that he was leaving the Priesthood. Even though he was only with us a short while, he was a most popular curate being involved with many organisations and schools within the community. Of a kind and gentle disposition, he was highly regarded by all. He leaves with the good wishes and blessings of the whole community.

A Night of Fun Carol

Over the past two years a group of people have gathered together in Templemore to do a little Carol Singing purely for fun and Christmas Spirit, with no collection of money.

This year the date has been set for Thursday 22nd December and we hope we can gather an even larger group than last year.

We will assemble at the Town Hall for 7pm. Our stop points are as follows:-

1. Church Street/Marian Road Junction

2. Tigh Mhuire

3. Railway Road/Church Avenue Junction

4.Small Bridge, Talavera

5. McCann Bridge, The Mall

6. Finish at Town Hall

Please feel free to join us or when you hear us at any of the stops please come out and listen and maybe join in the singing.

Looking forward to seeing you all!

Ladies Golf

The AGM of the Ladies Golf Club will be held in Murphy’s Lounge on this Wednesday night at 8pm.

We encourage all the lady members to come along to the AGM.

Presentation of outstanding prizes also.

The Lady’s Munster and All Ireland Winning Minor Cup Team were accorded a huge honour on Saturday evening last when they were the recipients of a Civic Reception by Templemore Town Council, along with the local All Ireland Minor Footballers and also Jackie Kelly Templetuohy winner of the Young Person of the Year (who was unavoidably absent).

Having listened to the accolades of the Templemore’s Mayor Jim O’Shea, Town Clerk Tom McGrath, and indeed all councillors present, it brought home to all of us how great an honour it was for our small club to bring an All Ireland Trophy and a Gold Medal each, back to Templemore, with somebody mentioning that gold medals ‘don’t come in the post’, they only come with huge commitment and dedication to one’s sport.

Tom McGrath loves co-incidences – and he was delighted to explain to those present how being a Minor player in GAA (aged Under 18) doesn’t quite apply to the ladies Golf Minor team!! – where a handicap of 23 – 29 determines if you qualify to play. (Age don’t matter!!)

Thanks to the Town Council for a lovely tribute, and to the staff of Foley’s for the refreshments.

Templemore Community Services Centre

We would like to thank all Helpers, Volunteers, Sponsors and the Public for their kind support to us in helping to make our Annual Bazaar 2011 a great success.

We must not forget Santa and all his helpers in the Grotto who are having a well deserved rest before Santa’s Big Night.

Citizens Information Centre

The Information Centre will be available on Wed Dec 14th at Templemore Community Services, Bank St, Templemore from 10am – 12.30pm – no appointment necessary and callers will be seen on a first come first served basis.

This is an independent, free and confidential service where you can find out about your rights and entitlements.

J.K. Brackens G.A.A.

Our AGM will be held this Saturday evening in Pavillion at 8pm. All are welcome. This is the meeting where all members can have their say on all aspects of the club on and off the pitch, and where the officers and committee to run the affairs of the club for 2012 will be elected. This is your chance to have your say.

Our sympathy to the Loughnane, Cahill, Mullins, Stapleton, Newman families on their recent bereavements.

Dinner Dance:

A large crowd attended the club’s most enjoyable Dinner Dance and Presentation function at the Templemore Arms Hotel on Friday night last. Medals were presented to our championship and league winning teams. Presentations were made to a number of very worthy recipients. A most enjoyable night was had by all.
