The school year has got off to a busy start for the Ladies’ football teams. On September 19th the senior team travelled to Ballyporeen to play Boherbue. In spite of a spirited performance the Templemore girls were defeated by a stronger Cork side. The junior team began the season well with a victory over Loreto, Fermoy on Monday last. The final score was 4 -13 to 1-5. Our Lady’s dominated from the beginning and continued to grow in confidence throughout the game. Scorers: Mairead Eviston 2-3, Ciara O’Toole 1-3, Miriam Campion 1-1, Niamh Tracey 0-3 Orla Cahill 0-1 Sarah Buckley 0-1, Elaine Fitzpatrick 0-1. Well done to the teams and to managers Ms Caroline O’ Hara and Ms Mary Fitzpatrick.
First Year Hurling
Well done to the first year hurlers who had a great start to the season with victories over Thurles C.B.S. and Johnstown V.S. in the Corn Uí Chatháin at Dr. Morris Park on Monday last. This group have been taking part in a lunch time league over the past few weeks and inspire great confidence with their skill and enthusiasm. We look forward to watching their progress in the coming months. Well done to the team and to coaches Mr Seamus Bourke, Mr. Tom Byrnes and Mr.David Farrelly.
Well done to the Kinane Cup team who had a 3-14 to 1-7 victory over PC Glanmire at Ballygiblin on Wednesday last. Congratulations to the team and to managers, Mr. Gerry Ryan and Mr. Shane Dolan.
We wish our new LCA 1 students well as they settle into their first session of the LCA programme at Our Lady’s. All students have begun their work experience and are doing very well in this .We would like to thank all employers for their willingness and cooperation in giving our students an opportunity in the workplace. The students also have commenced their Visual Arts Task which promises to be very dramatic and interesting. We welcome Christy O Neill from Templemore Youth Project, who will talk to the students as part of a key assignment in English and Communication.
Congratulations to our LCA2 students on receiving excellent results for session two.Thanks to parents for attending the presentation. We wish the students well as they undertake their tasks for session three.
These students are now in their third work experience placement and doing very well.
Finally, congratulations to last years LCA group who have graduated and who are all doing very well. Many of them are undertaking courses at St. Sheehan’s.
Transition year students accompanied by Ms Breda Maher and Mr Shane Dolan travelled to Delphi Outdoor Adventure Centre in County Mayo on Wednesday, September 21st. For three days the group took part in a gruelling series of adventures and challenges and also found time for recreation and team-building activities. Well done to the students who were such good ambassadors for the school in Delphi and thanks to Ms. Maher and Mr. Dolan who accompanied them on the trip.
