“Go out and use it,” was the advice legendary GAA commentator Micheal O Muicheartaigh had for the people of North Tipperary when he launched the rerouted Lough Derg Way in Dromineer last Saturday.
The 40km walk was upgraded and parts of it shifted away from main roads to minor roads and across hills to take in the banks of the River Shannon, the old Limerick Canal Navigation System and the eastern shores of Lough Derg.
The rerouting was carried out by various agencies, including North Tipperary Leader Partnership and Shannon Development, said LEADER chairman Cllr John Carroll.
