Tipperary TD Noel Coonan has welcomed last Friday’s launch of €3m funding for community childcare services, parent and toddler groups and childminders nationally. Deputy Coonan is urging Tipperary childcare providers to apply for the funding which comes on stream this week.
“This is the third year in row my Fine Gael colleague and Minister for Children Frances Fitzgerald has announced a scheme of funding for early years services which is vitally important in Tipperary and nationally. Children are our future and this allocation highlights our dedication to enhancing childcare provision in Tipperary,” said Deputy Coonan.
“The Minister announced €2.5m is being made available for the repair, maintenance and upgrade of community and not-for-profit childcare services.
Applications for these strands can be made from the afternoon of Monday, April 7, on the Pobal website.
“In addition, the Minister announced she is allocating €250,000 to support Parent and Toddler Groups; and a further €0.25 million to the Childminding Development Grant Scheme,” concluded Deputy Coonan.
