Members of all Choirs in Parishes of Killaloe Diocese:

We have great pleasure in inviting choir members from every choir in the Diocese to come and participate in the Final Eucharistic Celebration of the Killaloe Diocesan Faith Gathering, Ennis Cathedral, September 15th, 12 noon. We know that many of you will be with us on Friday evening Sept. 13th and also for the workshops and presentations on Saturday 14th. However we look forward to seeing you back with us again for this celebration on Sunday 15th and we sincerely hope that many of you will make an effort to come for this, the final event of our Diocesan Faith Gathering on this special weekend. This ceremony will be led by Bishop Kieran and we look forward to a spirit-filled celebration of hope and courage as amalgamated choirs from one end of the diocese to the other lift their voices in song, praise and prayer”.

First Friday Mass.

Mass for First Friday will be celebrated this Friday September 13th in Lorrha at 9.30a.m.and in Rathcabbin at 8.00p.m. Confessions before both Masses.

Fitness Classes Reminder.

Fitness classes will resume on Monday 16th September and run as usual in six week blocks every Monday and Wednesday from 7.00 to 8.00p.m. in Lorrha GAA complex. The cost is €50 for 6 weeks (12 classes) or €6 pay as you go. To book your place or for more information please contact Elaine on (087) 1357080. Blood Donor Clinic:

A blood donor clinic will be held on Tuesday 17th September from 3.00pm - 5.00pm and again from 7.00 – 9.30pm at Lorrha GAA Centre. Your help ensures blood supplies are always available.

Date For Your Diary.

A charity tractor/vintage run will be held on Sunday 29th September starting at 12.30 in Rathcabbin to raise funds for Rathcabbin Development Association and Borrisokane Community College Autism Unit. A raffle for trailers of wood and turf will be drawn on the night -€5 tickets on sale soon. Your support will be gratefully appreciated.

Preliminary Announcement.

Lorrha National School Parents Association are holding a fundraising dance in the GAA clubhouse in Moatfield on Saturday 2nd November. Great music, great door prizes, and only €10 admission. Unwanted Clothes Collection.

Are you cleaning out all your unwanted summer clothes, shoes, bags etc.? Lorrha Development / Tidy Towns are presently organizing an unwanted clothes collection and are asking you to donate any unwanted items. The collection point will be outside Lorrha Hall on Friday October 4th and again on Friday October 11th . We will accept any kind of bag or in bags provided by the committee. Unwanted items can also be collected by calling (086) 8493595/ (086) 8647166/ (087) 2601413.

Social Dancing.

Social dancing continues in the GAA clubhouse on Friday night with music provided by Tony Nugent and Gerry Farrell. Dancing from 9.30 to 12.30.

Community Education Service offer the following courses which are suited to people on a work experience placement/initiative in a community setting, and people who are active in their local communities and want to learn more about community development.

A person may sign up for one, two or three courses. FETAC level 5 course on ‘Working with Groups’ will take place in Colaiste Mhuire Co-Educational School, Thurles on Monday 16th September from 7pm to 10pm.

‘Understanding Community Development’ course will take place the following night Tuesday 17th, same venue and time while on Wednesday night 18th the course will close with ‘Communications’. Courses under the Back to Education Initiative are free to many individuals. With less than Leaving Certificate or equivalent. This includes persons who are in employment, persons who are unwaged and persons who are in receipt of payments from the Department of Social Protection. In receipt of a Jobseekers payment or means tested benefit. Holders of a Medical Card. All others will be charged fees.

Places are limited. The above courses will take place subject to demand.
