North Tipperary Fine Gael TD Noel Coonan is urging Tipperary people to vote for Tipperary Regional Youth Services (TRYS) who have been short-listed in this year’s Coca-Cola Thank You Fund.

This fund awards projects that promote healthy and active living in local communities.

“Tipperary Regional Youth Services is one of 45 innovative projects chosen from 300-plus applicants. I helped spread the word about this fund when it was announced earlier this year and I am pleased to see Tipperary represented in the shortlist.

“TRYS’s entry is The Tailteann Games Project, which is based on the age-old Gaelic tradition of community entertainment and participation. This will deliver a 16-week alternative experience to eight rural youth clubs,” explained Deputy Coonan.

“One overall winner will be given €25,000 and 10 other organisations will receive €10,000 each. The 11 winners of the grants will be announced in November,” continued Deputy Coonan.

“The final decision on who receives the grants will be split equally between a public vote and voting by an expert panel.

“To view the shortlist and vote log on to www.coca-cola.ie/thank you and vote for TRYS and their project which will impact positively on our community. Voting is open until September 30,” said Deputy Coonan.
