The death occurred on Tuesday, 18th June (suddenly) at his residence of Martin Begadon of Conoboro Road, Rathdowney. A very well known and popular gentleman, the area and beyond was saddened. He was a Contractor, a Builder and owned a pub in Rathdowney for some years. Martin enjoyed a pint, music and songs. He was the best of company and a wonderful neighbour. He will be always missed. He was predeceased by his wife Bridie of 11 years. He is sadly mourned by his daughters Helen and Maureen, son Stephen, daughter-in-law Liz, sons-in-law David and Stephen grandchildren Aoife, Shannon, Darragh, Stephen and Megan, his sisters Bid and Tess (England), niece Mary Begadon, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, neighbours and many friends. Martin was born and raised in Cannonswood, Cullohill the place he loved. Reposing was at his residence. Removal took place on Friday morning to the Church of the Holy Trinity. The Principal celebrant of the Concelebrated Requiem Mass was Fr. Martin Delaney P.P. with Fr. Tom McGree C.C. Cullohill and Fr. Seamus McEvoy C.C. The burial took place in Bealady Cemetery. May he rest in peace.
