Two weeks ago, Mid Tipperary Hill Walkers welcomed four new walkers on the moderate level walk around the Coumdulla Circuit in the Nire Valley.
This weekend, our usual moderate and high level walks leave opposite the fire station in Cashel at 11am and, as always, new walkers are again welcome to come along – just bring boots, rain gear, a packed lunch and a change of clothes for afterwards. Moderate level walks are usually of about 3½ duration, while high level walks are about 5 hours and go at a faster pace.
Last Saturday, seventeen members who had been rock climbing in Ballykeefe during the summer visited the Burren where we had a marvellous day’s climbing, first in Ballyryan and then in Ailladie (see photo).
Because the weather was so good we stayed climbing all day so the planned visit to Pollnagolum cave was postponed for a later date. Then, on Sunday, the high-level walk took in a gully above the Sgillogue Lakes.
