Death of Michael Fogarty - The death has occurred at his residence in Cormackstown of Michael Fogarty. Deceased had suffered indifferent health in recent years. He was only predeceased by his wife Maureen less than six months ago. Deceased had retired from his business as a cattle dealer and pub owner. Well known and well liked Mick was the former owner of the renowned hostelry, ‘The Ship’, Cormackstown, of a genial and pleasant disposition he was kind, friendly and had a smile to greet every occasion. He liked to chat but loved a card game, an astute player he was. Peace to his kindly soul. To his son and daughter we tend our sympathy. His remains were brought to Ballycahill Church and after Requiem Mass he was interred in St Patricks Cemetery, Thurles. The very large and representative congregation who attended Mass and burial was evident of Mick’s popularity. Old friends travelled distances to show their respect to a true and good friend. Chief mourners, son Pat, daughters Brid, Josephine, Margaret and Mary, his brother Sean and sisters, Sr. Eucharia and Mary, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, many relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.
