The Ursulines had celebrated their 225 years in great style back in October, but Mayor Michael Cleary and his Town Council colleagues felt that it was entirely appropriate that the local authority should acknowledge the magnificent contribution of the many Sisters down through the years, and the Order itself, to the fabric of life in and around the Cathedral Town.

Not only has the Order helped to provide education to thousands of young ladies from junior infants right up to sixth year in Secondary School, it has also helped to instill in them a sense of pride of place, a finding of their own space in the world, with spirituality and well being top priorities for all involved in the Ursuline community.
