Pro Life National Seminar - This Seminar was held at the Alexander Hotel, Dublin on Saturday last, September 22nd. We understand a few people from the parish attended. Perhaps in time we may hear some information or details about it.

Church Renovation - The Church of the Assumption, Knockavilla have had a make over and is now looking very elegant indeed. Congratulations to our Parish Priest, Fr. James Egan on the massive effort involved and overcome.

School Days - Now that the last of the exam results are announced and all schools are settled down we congratulate all on their achievements, wishing the Junior Certs. well on their way to the Leaving Cert. and hoping that the Leaving Certs. got the desired result and third grade placings to their satisfaction and if you didn’t do as good as you hoped you still did well and will do well to remember that “All folk’s got a place in the choir, some sing low and some sing higher” so congratulations to all and let’s not forget the little ones taking the first steps in Primary School on the long road to the top.

Evening Classes in Cappawhite - Cappawhite Open Learning Centre have released there Autumn programme with something for everyone. New this year is a very interesting course on how to trace your family tree. If you’d like to develop your artistic skills Melissa Courish will be teaching watercolor painting and Siobhain Summers is back with the basics of Flower arranging. Proving to be very popular last season, guitar lessons are running again. As always there’s both basic computers for those who need to learn how to turn on the computer, and email and internet classes for those who may be more advanced. Digital photo editing is also on offer with Geraldine of ‘Armshaw Photography’. For anyone looking for craic agus ceoil on a Saturday night, the renowned Philip Ryan (Bawn) is running eight weeks of beginners and advanced set dancing classes.
