We would like to congratulate ‘The Tyone Crew’ who participated along with 21 other groups, in the Foróige Citizenship Awards in Cork. They received a Certificate of Achievement and a special Merit Award for their project. This is a volunteer led group held in Tyone Community Centre once a week for the young people aged 10-16 living in this area. We would like to thank Tracey Thompson (N. Tipp Town Council) and Regine Stewart (NTCS) for their participation and assistance with this group. New members and volunteers are most welcome.
This Christmas we are busy planning programmes and activities for 2012, including soccer, arts & crafts, dance, drama, drop-in groups, Hotspot multimedia training and much more. Foróige clubs across the county and Foróige nationally has been going from strength to strength. The clubs have been contributing to their communities with citizenship project, designed and carried out by young people themselves. Foróige has 60 years of enabling young people to learn more, do more and be more. The fantastic volunteers across the county enable young people to run their own clubs learning new skills and contributing to their communities.
