Holycross Ballycahill Camogie Club –Official Book Launch - The launch of the Clubs 25th anniversary book titled “Photographic Collection “Down Memory Lane”, took place on the 14 of December in the Community Centre in Holycross. Michael Lowry TD officially launched book which was compiled by Club Chairperson Rhonda Spillane and Committee. The Committee would like to thank Lions Print of Cashel, who did such a marvellous job on the final design; which was the talking point of the night.
The entertainment on the night was provided by Ballycahill National School, who gave a great rendition of Hosanna Rocks with dance routine under the guidance of their principal Ms. Ryan (which thrilled the crowd). And Holycross National School under the guidance of their teacher Ms. Mc Cullagh, recited two poems, one being The Hurlers Prayer, which was very apt on the night. Also some of the Holycross folk group provided great musical entertainment.
The Club President Peggy Shanahan commended the work of the inaugural committee; Rita Hayes, Helen Ryan, Ann O Brien, Ann Skehan, and Father Eugene Everard. Peggy also alluded to the future of the club, when she recognised that her 5 month old granddaughter Ciara who was present.
The Chairperson thanked everyone who was there for their continued support, and invited everyone to have refreshments. The book was well received and the night was a great success overall.
The Book can be purchased from local shops and the post office in the Parish.
