CAVA Community & Voluntary Awards

It is that time of year again CAVA are looking for entries to their community and Voluntary Awards 2011. Last year was a great success with an array of community and voluntary groups from all over North Tipperary entering the awards. The winners on the night were presented with a piece of bog oak sculpted by RJ Gough.

It is that time of year again CAVA are looking for entries to their community and Voluntary Awards 2011. Last year was a great success with an array of community and voluntary groups from all over North Tipperary entering the awards. The winners on the night were presented with a piece of bog oak sculpted by RJ Gough.

It is hoped that this year will be an even bigger success with a higher number of applicants from all around North Tipperary. The application process has been extended till Friday the 21st of October. Groups as is usually the case are advised to put as much supporting information with the application as possible as this allows for the judges to get a better feel for the project/group.

The awards ceremony is taking place on Friday the 18th of November in Newport Community Centre starting at 8pm . There are seven categories including Environmental Award, Arts, Culture and Heritage Award, Youth & Sport Award, Economic Award, Community Empowerment Award, Social Inclusion Award There is also an overall award called the CAVA Outstanding Achievement Award 2011.

This year also see the addition of CAVA Community Person of the Year Award which is to recognise and reward the hard work and dedication of volunteers in our community.
