Thomastown National School - Our 4th Class student Alan Flannery recently represented Thomastown N.S. in the Munster Schools Swimming competition held in Limerick University. Alan finished in a time that saw him ranked 7th in Munster in this event at his age level. This ranking automatically qualified Alan to compete nationally in this same event. The All-Ireland will be held in Galway in December. We wish Alan the best of luck in this competition.

Juvenile G.A.A. - Last Sunday Golden/Kilfeacle held an U/13 hurling tournament for the first time. We played local rivals Bansha in the final in a hard hitting but fair match with plenty of skill displayed by both sides. Bansha were leading for most of the match but Golden came good in the last ten minutes to win the match on the scoreline of 2-4 to 1-4. Both teams were presented with their trophies by James Lawrence (Sponsor) and Gabriel Hayde Golden/Kilfeacle Juvenile Chairman. The biggest cheer of the night went to popular Golden Captain Cian O’Connell who received the large winners shield and gave a great speech afterwards. The club would like to thank local businessman James Lawrence for his sponsorship, referee Alan Wade, the parents for the wonderful catering and finally Bansha for a great sporting game.
