History Index - An index to accompany our 3 volume parish history “A Life of It’s Own” has been compiled by Julitta Clancy, Co. Meath who is a specialist in that field. It is presently with the printers and should be available around Christmas.
Senior Citizens Party - Parishioners from both Moyne and Templetuohy are cordially invited to a Senior Citizens party which will take place at Moyne Community Centre on this Sunday, 20th November commencing at 2 p.m. The task of catering at the party was for many years loyally and efficiently carried out by members of the local I.C.A. but following the recent disbandment of the guild a new committee has been formed. It comprises, Joint Chairperson, Eileen Cantwell and Una Ryan; Joint Secretaries, Kay Carey and Evelyn Dunne; Joint Treasurers, Kitty Moore and Sharon Kiely. Anybody willing to help please contact any of the above. Music as ever will be supplied by the ever dependable Dan Taylor and Margaret Maher to whom we owe a deep debt of gratitude. Donations of confectionery would be most welcome on the day.
Death of Oldest Parishioner - The area was saddened on November 11th to hear of the death in her 102nd year of Kitty Maher (nee Stapleton), Killoran and Padre Pio Nursing Home. Deepest sympathy to her son Jimmy, daughter -in-law Josephine, grandchildren and extended family. May her soul enjoy eternal rest. Full obituary next week.
Scor na nOg - We will be represented in six competitions, Solo Song; Recitation; Instrumental Music; Ballad Group; Quiz and Novelty Act in the Mid Tipp final of Scor na nOg which will take place in Muintir na Tire Hall, Littleton on Saturday week, 26th November.
Scor na bPaisti - As Scor na bPaisti is starting much earlier in 2012 it is planned to have auditions for this competition which is suitable for Primary School pupils of 4th, 5th and 6th class at Templetuohy Hall on Friday week, 24th November commencing at 8 p.m. Intending musicians please bring instruments.
Bridge Results - Winners on 3rd November, 1st Michael Ryan and John Joe Butler, 2nd Frances O’Brien and Jim O’Meara, 3rd Kathleen Ryan and Carmel Lonergan. This week’s competition will be the first session of the Helen Quinlan Memorial Tournament and will again be held at Cullens by kind permission
Traditional Night - A Traditional night of music and song featuring many young talented musicians and singers will take place on this Saturday evening, 19th November at Cullens, Moyne commencing at 9 p.m.
Get Well Soon - Parishioners extend their best wishes to our esteemed A.P. Fr. John O’Connell who is currently convalescing at Ardeen Nursing Home, Thurles following his recent illness.
