Book Launch - ‘The Awakening of the Abbey by Willie Hayes’, this book will be launched in the Community Centre on Wednesday night, 23rd November at 7.30 p.m. This is a continuation of Willie’s last book on the Restoration of the Abbey and covers the period

1960 - 2000. We are all familiar with Willie’s writing over the years with it’s informative and interesting contents. No doubt with the publication of his new book and with the mine of information he has both historically and otherwise on the Abbey and the parish, it will be a lovely gift for our “away” parishioners and a must for our own book shelves. Willie extends an open invitation to the launch to all parishioners.

November Rosary for the Dead - During this month of November, the rosary will be recited in both graveyards here each Sunday after the 11 a.m. Mass in the Abbey and after the 10 a.m. Mass in Ballycahill Church the rosary will be recited in both Ballycahill and Moyaliffe Cemeteries.

Table Quiz - The Tidy Village committee are holding their annual Table Quiz in Kevin Ryan’s Abbey Tavern on this Friday night, 18th November commencing at 9.30 p.m. Over the years this quiz has become very popular and a most enjoyable night. Excellent prizes can be won both on the quiz and the raffle. This event is run to raise some funds for the Tidy Villages committee to enable them to continue further work on the village in 2012. Money permitting they have a few projects in mind. Your continued support, we most gratefully acknowledge.

Annual Sale of Work - Annual Auction and Sale of Work this Sunday, 20th November commencing at 2 p.m. in the Community Centre. Gifts for the Wheel of Fortune, homemade bread, cakes and confectionery will be much appreciated and can be given in at hall on morning of sale. Parishioners should make an effort and attend sale, good prizes to be won on the wheel and raffle.

Launch of John Doyle’s Book - The launch of the book on the legendary John Doyle, Glenbane will take place on Thursday, 24th November in the Anner Hotel, Thurles. The Doyle family cordially invite all parishioners to attend the launch - you will be most welcome.

Race Night - Holycross Ballycahill G.A.A. club are running a fundraising ‘Race Night’ in Kevin Ryan’s on Saturday, 26th November. It promises to be a fun filled occasion with music from ‘Johnny B and the Boogie Men’. A Best Dressed Lady competition with a 200 euro voucher from ‘Born’ Boutique, Thurles and several hilarious “Races” on the night. Admission is free. Intermediate hurling and football medals won in 2011 will also be given out on the night.
