Last Sunday, 26 walkers joined us in the Galtee Mountains. Ollie Walsh led a group of 12 on the high level walk on a new route up the Lyraveg Glen to Lyragappul in the West Galtees and descending by the Assaroola River. Meanwhile, John G O’Dwyer led 14 moderate level walkers up to and around Lake Muskry in the east of the Galtee range. In beautiful conditions, a great day was had by all. Next Sunday (8th December), the high level walk leaves Cashel at the earlier time of 10am.
December will be a busy month for walkers. On Sunday 15th, high and moderate level walks will leave Cashel at 11am. Then, on Sunday 22nd the Annual Holly Walk takes place in Glenpatrick. As usual, the meeting point is opposite the fire station in Cashel at 11am. This is a relatively easy-level, social walk which is always relaxed and enjoyable, and everyone is invited. A picnic/refreshments will be provided. Then, on 27th December, the annual Devil’s Bit walks (high level and moderate level) in aid of the LARCC cancer centre take place, and are supported by Mid Tipp Hill Walkers.
So, why not come along and join us in this darkest of months – you will be very welcome and will enjoy the outdoors in winter.
