Nenagh Town Council Road will host an open night for the public on its proposed Traffic Management Plan this Wednesday, December 4, from 5pm until 7pm in the Civic Offices, Limerick Road.
Meanwhile, Cllr Hughie McGrath has asked the council to examine the sequencing of traffic lights at the Market Cross, saying that they were allowing only three cars at a time to use the lights.
He was told by town manager Marcus O’Connor that the lights operate by counting time delay and not the number of cars pasing through the lights. The traffic management consultants will examine the issue.
Cllr Virginia O’Dowd asked that they also look at the length of time given to pedestrians to cross the street at the Market Cross, saying older people found it difficult to cross in the allotted time frame
